"'Tis the season"

Hello, I'm back. Dart season again!!! I took the summer off to spend it with the family, and it's time to get back to business. I was just notified off a HUGE "Tournament" happening in Gorham, NH. The "1st Annual White Mountain Trick or Treat Open". Oct 21st and 22nd at the Town and Country Inn, Rte 2 Gorham, NH. It's a $3,500.00 Tourney, with 6 events starting Friday at 6:30pm. It should be a great weekend full of fun and darts.  For more info download the flyer on this page. If any one has any info on other tournaments in the North Country, drop me an email.

"I used to shoot a lot better than this."

If you have been shooting as long as I have, (20+ years) you have ups and downs. But I seem to remember shooting better than I do now. My knees hurt when I lean. My elbow starts to ache when I shoot too much. It takes more "Aiming Juice" to get me loose than it did when I was (OK I'll say it) YOUNGER. Darts is more than a hobby. It calms you down when your stressed, it stresses you out when your calm. It builds you self esteem and humbles you at the same time. That's why you get hooked. The first time you hit what your aiming at, or hit your first ton, you get hooked. Those of you that play know what I am talking about. There is nothing like playing somebody who is a really good shooter and coming from behind to beat them. To me, it's a rush, a good clean rush of adrenalin that boosts you up. That's why I play. That's why I built the trophy for the league. That's why I spend my time running LOD's and trying to get people involved. If you feel the same, join my blog.

Alien Dartboards. Like 'em? Hate 'em?

We just installed 4 brand new Alien brand dartboards at the VFW. I've been hearing good and bad comments about them. Everyone loves how bright they are they are easy to see, but a few people are complaining about bounce outs. I just told them to throw the darts harder! Has anyone had any experience with these boards? They are new to me and if they are going to be a problem I will stop buying them. Personally, the one that I shot on was great, I had a few bounce outs, but it was the way my dart hit the board and not the board itself. Let me know what you think?

Happy "hump" day!!!

Yeah, it's Wednesday again, which means it's all down hill from here, right? I just installed some new boards at Ledgends Pub in Gorham. Go down and check them out, they are looking to get a team together for next year, so if your looking to join a team or need a new place to shoot out of, that's a great location. Plenty of room, great food, and great atmosphere. Also, I just put 4 new boards in the VFW, that make 8 new boards this year to shoot on for next weeks LOD. I added links to the Dart News to this page, you'll find them on the left side bar.
There is a new survey question on the right, let me know what you think. I could use some feedback from everyone on what you would like to see on this blog. Please sign up with you email address and you will get updated when I make new posts. Hope to see everyone at the VFW next weekend! See ya!
